I found a super easy recipe here for salt dough.  The kids did most of the work, lol.

All you need is:
2 cups of white flour
1 cup salt
1 cup cold water

Mix flour and salt, then add the water.  Knead until makes a smooth dough,
 and then...

HAVE FUN!

It is edible, but Sweet Pea, doesn't recommend it.

When the dough was ready, we put them in the oven at 200 degrees F.

Then we painted them as gifts for our next D fun...

DAD'S DAY!
My husband's birthday is only days away from Father's Day, so every year it all kind of gets mushed together.  That was when I thought how perfect it would be to give him a different day!

Rose thought we should hang it up with Duct tape
Of course, this is something we should do all the time!  Honor those who help take care of us.  And don't forget grand-dads too!!

Cards were made by all!
And don't forget to make some cards for dad too!

We thought of all the things dad likes and make him a special meal.  It included:

Tomato- Cucumber Salad:

  • This is so easy.  Slice cucmbers, cut tomatoes, cube some mozzerella (or whatever mild white cheese) and cover with your favorite Italian dressing.

Potato Salad

  •  I can't stand store bought.  Boil a ton of potatoes and an equal (or a little less) number of eggs, sperately of course.  Let cool.  Slice pickles, red onion, and celery.  Mix with cooled cut eggs and potatoes.  Sprinkle with kosher salt and some celery salt.  Add mayonaise and mustard to proper constinatcy and taste.  Cool.  And so much BETTER than that nasty sugary sweet junk they sell in a bucket.
Hamburgers

  • with homemade buns, we use this recipe.  Of course, he had to barbeque the burgers... sorry dad!

Root Beer

  • DUH!

And for dessert:

ICE CREAM!!!

Other Activities:

  • Day Camping
  • Dinosaurs: is there a local museum or attraction that has something to do with dinosaurs?  GO!
  • Dandelion Bracelets
  • Daisy Chains

D Week Tea:
Our D Week tea turned into our Dad's Dinner, but these would be some ideas for a tea:

  • Deviled Eggs
  • Veggies with Dip
