Last night we had our annual Pinewood Derby race. We combined our son's Cub Scout troop with our daughter's Frontier Girl group and had one massive party. It was a blast!
I forgot to take pictures of the kids with their cars last night, but here they are now, with their prizes:
Theo had a car made by his dad, but he painted himself. He won the Fastest Sibling Race.
Sofia made an adorable penguin, because that is her rank in Frontier Girls! She won Safest Driver (you know what that means... we had to help push it to the finish line a few times).
Ben made an awesome Agent P! He also won a Safest Driver Award. I wonder if I can save money on their insurance when they turn 16?
Lucy redeemed us all! She got First Place out of the Frontier Girls with her dolphin blue car (yup! her rank!)
And Liam (who did not want his picture taken) made a really cool car to look like the Boy Scout Sash and with the badges of rank on it. He called it "The Road to Eagle."
We have a cool new system where the kids get to push a button and then like at the races there is a tower (which I of course forgot to get a picture of) that has red, yellow, and green lights, some racing noises and then the cars take off!
Some people loved the food.
And some people just wanted to go home and go to bed.
We are so lucky to have such a great pack of families. I felt honored to be the Tiger Den leader this year. I can't even being to express what fun and wonderful things scouting has brought to our family.
